Eddie Stephens, William Foman and Cory Strolla have been tapped to co-chair Leadership Palm Beach County’s 2017 – 2018 Grow Program. Leadership Grow enables High School Juniors to understand the critical issues facing Palm Beach County while encouraging them to expand their leadership roles and build a foundation for always being involved in their community.

Stephens, Foman and Strolla, in addition to a number of day chairs and GROW volunteers, will lead students through a nine month program where they will gain real-life experience by having unparalleled access to leaders from businesses, government agencies, and civic organizations. Leadership Grow class members meet one day a month, from September to May.

Stephens hand picked his co-chairs and is confident this will be a fantastic year.  “I have known Bill for over 15 years.  We spent many years leading a Scout troop together.  I have known Cory since competing against him in trial competitions in law school 23 years ago.  I believe I have assembled a team that will create a unique environment for the best students in Palm Beach County to refine their leadership skills and as they spend 8 days with us over the school year exploring regions outside their typical comfort zone. We are also very pleased to be working with Melissa Gaynor, the first LPBC employee focused solely on our programming and the proven leadership of our Executive Director, Noel Martinez“.

Only 47 high school juniors who represent the diversity of Palm Beach County’s school system are accepted. By completing the program, students graduate into a thriving group of alumni who are better prepared for the world ahead of them with the skills to influence the future direction of Palm Beach County and our nation as a whole. The program is free to the students. Schools are encouraged to nominate student’s in their Sophomore year to participate in the Leadership Grow Program in their Junior Year. Nominations are due by the first week of September of student’s Junior year, however the program usually fills before the deadline. The program accepts 48 high school Juniors and fills on a first come first serve basis. Students who are interested in being nominated should contact their school Principal to find out the faculty person in charge of nominating for the program.

Eddie Stephens is a board certified attorney in Family and Marital Law and a trained Collaborative Law attorney.  After starting his career as an attorney for the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser’s Office, Stephens has developed a successful family law practice focused on highly disputed divorces.  Stephens is also a popular and engaging motivational speaker and is involved with a number of charitable endeavors. He has been a leader in the Boy Scouts of America for over 10 years, is also involved with Big Dog Ranch Rescue, Palm Beach County’s largest no-kill dog rescue, and most recently graduated from the Leadership Palm Beach County program and served on its Board of Governors.  In addition to serving as Grow Program Chair, Stephens is also on the Board of The Center for Children Counseling.  Stephens earned his J.D. at Stetson University College of Law.

William “Bill” Foman is an Insurance Defense Attorney at Williams, Leininger, and Cosby, PA. Bill began his legal career at the Office of The State Attorney in Palm Beach County, Florida. After leaving the prosecutor’s office he has focused his career on civil litigation. He has been a scout leader with Cub Scouts of America, served on the Board of Directors of the Palm Beach Center for Child Counseling. Mr. Foman has been married to his wife Dena for 17 years and the couple have 4 boys. Bill and his wife Dena Foman are both graduates of Leadership Palm Beach County.

Cory Strolla is a former prosecutor and division chief for Palm Beach County, and has been an established and prominent criminal defense attorney, Strolla Law since 2001. Mr. Strolla has been nominated and inducted into several National and Regional attorney award publications, and has been previously published by the Florida Bar, “Masters of DUI” seminar.  Mr. Strolla also volunteered as a Youth Court Judge for the PBSO juvenile diversion program.

Melissa Gaynor, Program Coordinator,  Leadership Palm Beach County (LPBC),  Melissa provides management and support to programs for Leadership Palm Beach County. She coordinates communications and branding to alumni and community and works with volunteers and Executive Director to generate income for the organization by identifying and applying for grants and sponsorships.

Marlee Brannock, Events and Marketing Coordinator at Leadership Palm Beach County. Marlee provides management and support to events committees for Leadership Palm Beach County. She coordinates the communications and branding to alumni and community. Understand the organization activities, operations, policies and procedures to perform all duties. Marlee also works with volunteers and Executive Director to generate income for the organization
