A design I created called “peaceful universe” is being used for a fundraiser where 100% of proceeds will be donated to Kelsey Cares. Lots of t-shirt designs and colors to choose from. Proceeds will be used by Kelsey Cares for funding art, theater, music, film, and cultural development through community outreach by providing subsidies for productions, events, artists and musicians to carry out their mission.
Why Kelsey Cares? Because I am inspired by AJ Brockman and what he is doing. AJ is an incredible soul. Unfortunately he has physical limitations because he has Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a progressive neuromuscular disease, and currently has the use of two fingers to create his digital art.
Despite the fact the use of his body has limitations, he has overcome them by creating some incredible art. AJ also has an incredible mind and vision as well and has created the The Brewhouse Gallery, restored The Kelsey Theater and is creating a vibrant artistic community in Lake Park. Last year, he opened a 501(c)(3), Kelsey Cares, to help underwrite artistic projects for folks who are artistic but do not have the resources to realize their artistic vision.
AJ is a huge inspiration to me. How can I complain about anything that has happened to me when AJ is out there spreading love and positivity.
About the image “peaceful universe” – I designed this while studying sacred geometry. If you know me, you know I believe symbols and numbers are important and can help channel energy. Not so much in a “Dr. Strange” way, more like the energy you can channel with a positive attitude. I believe these symbols are tools, that do assist us.
I believe when you “follow your bliss”, the universe conspires to aid you on your journey.
The image is two archetype symbols that overlap. In the front is a simple mandala, a ritualistic symbol that in many cultures represents the universe, which i tried to portray the mandala as if it was opening.
Behind the mandala is heptagram, a 7 pointed star. I believe this is a tool for summoning openness and positive energy.
By overlaying the two archetypes, I have created a hybrid symbol that I believe reflects the “peaceful universe”.
The Kelsey Cares logo is on the back.
All money raised (about $9 per shirt) will go to Kelsey Cares to support their mission.
