Board Certified family lawyer builds new West Palm Beach firm around nearly three decades of experience handling high-conflict, high-asset and high-net-worth family law matters

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — August 26, 2026 — Eddie Stephens has never viewed family law as simply a collection of statutes, financial affidavits and court hearings.

To him, every case is a story.

And on September 9, 2026, Stephens begins a new chapter of his own with the launch of Eddie Stephens – Family Law, a West Palm Beach firm focused on high-conflict divorce and sophisticated high-asset and high-net-worth family law matters.

The new firm will remain at 400 Columbia Drive, Suite 111, West Palm Beach, where Stephens and his team will continue their work under a new name and a new vision.

Stephens will be joined by attorney Noelle Stone and experienced family law professionals Jessica Nieves and Latasha Wynds.

For Stephens, the launch is less about starting over than taking nearly three decades of experience and deliberately building the kind of family law practice he wants for the next chapter of his career.

“I have always believed that trials are storytelling,” Stephens said. “But in family law, the story isn’t abstract. It is someone’s family, their children, their financial security and the life they are going to have when the case is over. That deserves an extraordinary level of preparation and care.”

Stephens has practiced law in Florida since 1997 and has been Board Certified in Marital and Family Law since 2004. Over the course of his career, he has developed a practice particularly suited to cases in which the legal, financial and human issues intersect: high-conflict divorce, substantial marital estates, closely held businesses, complex equitable distribution, business valuation, alimony and intensely contested parenting matters.

Those cases can involve significant wealth. They can also involve significant conflict.

Stephens believes effectively handling them requires understanding both.

“High-net-worth cases can be financially complicated, and high-conflict cases can be emotionally complicated,” Stephens said. “When you have both in the same case, you need lawyers who understand the numbers, understand the law and understand people. You have to know when to negotiate, when to de-escalate and when it is time to go to court.”

That philosophy has developed over thousands of hearings and nearly three decades of practice.

It has also been shaped by Stephens’ own life.

A sixth-generation Floridian who grew up in Coral Gables, Stephens originally imagined a career in filmmaking before finding his way to law. The connection turned out to be closer than he expected: both required understanding people, finding the important details and communicating a complicated story clearly.

Family law added something else — the opportunity to help people during periods of profound disruption.

That human element has remained central to Stephens’ practice as it has grown increasingly sophisticated.

“I want clients to know that we understand the stakes,” Stephens said. “Sometimes the issue is a business someone spent 30 years building. Sometimes it’s protecting a relationship with a child. Sometimes it’s getting through a conflict that has consumed someone’s life. Usually, it’s several of those things at once.”

The new firm is designed around that reality.

Rather than attempting to be everything to everyone, Eddie Stephens – Family Law will focus exclusively on marital and family law, with particular emphasis on complex, high-conflict and high-net-worth cases.

Stephens also intends the firm to reflect another principle that has followed him throughout his career: mastery of the craft.

He has spent years teaching other family lawyers, studying Florida appellate decisions and sharing developments in family law through Stephens’ Squibs, his long-running case-law publication. His professional and community involvement has included leadership in legal education, board certification and organizations serving children and families.

Now, that experience becomes the foundation for something new.

The name on the door will change.

The address will not.

And, importantly to Stephens, much of the team will remain together.

“I am incredibly proud that Noelle, Jessica and Latasha are taking this next step with me,” Stephens said. “A law firm isn’t a logo or a name on a wall. It’s people. I wanted to build this next chapter around people I trust, who care about the work and who understand the responsibility our clients place in our hands.”

For Stephens, September 9 represents both continuity and change.

After nearly three decades practicing family law, he says he isn’t interested in reinventing what has worked. He wants to refine it.

“Experience teaches you what matters and, just as importantly, what doesn’t,” Stephens said. “At this point in my career, I know the kind of lawyer I want to be, the kind of people I want around me and the kind of firm I want us to build.”
