We have been raising money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.  My paralegal Angela lost her son three years ago.  Initially, our goal was $2,500.  Through Angela’s inspiration… we have raised $9,700 as of 5:45.  We have 3 hours and 15 minutes to go…

Erik’s Entourage invites you to walk to fight suicide in the Out of the Darkness Palm Beach County Walk.

Hi.  My name is Angela Cahill and I lost my beloved son, Erik Cahill, on 2/9/16 to suicide.  Since then, I began walking in the Polk County/Lakeland Out of the Darkness Walk and in previous walks, I have raised over $5,800 for the American  Foundation for Suicide Prevention thanks to the generous support of those in my village.  It is comforting to me that there is an awareness of the need for suicide prevention and mental health awareness in our communities.  I hope you will join me in my efforts to create a community that is smart about mental health and wellness.

I have walked in Lakeland the past three years because my amazing daughter was the Co-chair of the walk up there and I wanted to support her.   This year, for the first time, I am walking in the Palm Beach County Walk, close to home.  It’s a little scary…as I don’t know how that will change the support I have received in the past.

Why I Walk

I had to pull myself out of my devastated state and do something positive after my heart and the hearts of many others were completely shattered when my son died by suicide on Feb. 9, 2016. AFSP threw us a lifeline and so I walk to support this fantastic organization, to Honor my son, to save lives, to support survivors, and for my own healing. I believe we can make a difference and create a world that is smarter about mental health, suicide and addiction.
